Overview

Lahza (لحظة, "moment") is a self-service platform for personal occasions, built for a client launching in the Sultanate of Oman. A host picks a bundle and a design, answers a short guided chat, previews the result on a phone and a laptop, pays, and publishes. Each guest then gets a personal link over WhatsApp, and every reply lands in the host's dashboard. Arabic is the primary language (RTL), with English second, and the whole product is mobile-first. I wrote the product requirements document and built the platform end to end. It is complete and running on staging ahead of launch.

Key Features

• Guided journey: An eight-scene flow from bundle to published site. Every answer saves the moment it is given, so a host never loses work, and drafts start anonymously before sign-up.
• Preview before payment: The site is generated and shown on phone and laptop frames before checkout, never after.
• Checkout & invoicing: Omani VAT, discount codes, and PDF invoices, with money stored as integer baisa rather than floats.
• Guest sites: Server-rendered, whole-response-cached pages that work without JavaScript. They include a countdown, a story, directions, add-to-calendar and an RSVP form, and are noindex unless the host chooses public.
• Guest list & RSVPs: Personal, unguessable guest links (32+ bytes of randomness), CSV import, QR codes, and live reply tracking with head counts.
• Host panel: A Filament dashboard for events, designs, guests, replies and payments, with a built-in user guide.
• Admin back office: Revenue, funnel, catalog-mix and guest-engagement reports, orders, customer profiles, and an editable bilingual catalog covering bundles, occasions, chat questions and landing-page copy.
• Privacy by design: EXIF and GPS data are stripped from every upload by re-encoding, and there is no facial recognition, in line with Oman's PDPL.

Tech Stack

Laravel 13 on PHP 8.4, React 19 and TypeScript via Inertia.js for the landing page and journey, and Filament 5 for two panels (host and admin). Styling uses Tailwind CSS 4 with CSS logical properties for RTL. Data sits in MySQL 8, with Redis for cache and queues. Laravel Fortify handles auth, Spatie Media Library, PDF and Backup cover media, invoices and backups, and soulbscription (on a Laravel 13 fork) manages entitlements. It is deployed to an Ubuntu VPS behind Nginx, with systemd-managed queue workers and a scheduler.

My Role & Impact

I owned Lahza from requirements to deployment: I wrote the PRD, designed the data model, and built the journey, guest sites, checkout, host panel and admin back office. The codebase is covered by 719 Pest tests and passes PHPStan level 7 and Pint. I also built the Playwright and Remotion pipeline that records the demo video above straight from the running app.
